“Mark Lamb…should step down immediately” – Chris James on Findings of Arizona Republic Investigation

Gilbert, AZ – Chris James, Democrat for Congress in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District, issued the following statement on an Arizona Republic investigation of Mark Lamb. A retired Sheriff running in the Republican primary, Lamb allegedly threatened a woman with a felony charge to stop her from posting about their alleged relationship, according to the Republic’s investigation:

“Based on the findings of the Arizona Republic’s investigation of Mark Lamb, he should step down from this race immediately. Beyond showing the hypocrisy at the heart of his public image built on supposedly ‘traditional values,’ the investigation shows someone eager and willing to abuse their power and to leverage public office for personal gain. That is exactly the opposite of what Arizonians need in the 5th District or anywhere else for that matter. Two members of Congress have already resigned this year under comparable circumstances. If he wants to live up to the public image he claims, bowing out of the race is his only option. Voters clearly cannot trust him.”
